Tuesday, 24 September 2024 – Darussalam Pilotage Services (DPS) Sdn Bhd proudly marked a significant milestone with the official recognition of the Certificate of Course Accreditation for Maritime Training from the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD).
The accreditation formally authorises DPS to conduct and offer in-class training for the Outboard Engine Driver Course (Class 9 Restricted), creating new opportunities for members of the public to participate in certified maritime training programmes.
The accreditation represents an important achievement in DPS’s continued growth and development within Brunei Darussalam’s maritime sector. It signifies the company’s successful expansion beyond its core pilotage and towage services into the field of maritime education and professional training, further strengthening its role in supporting the nation’s maritime industry.
With this recognition, DPS is now officially acknowledged as an accredited maritime training institution by MPABD, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining high standards of competency, professionalism, and safety within the maritime community. In addition, DPS has also been recognised as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the IBTE Approved Centre framework, further validating the quality and credibility of its training capabilities and facilities.
The newly accredited Outboard Engine Driver Course (Class 9 Restricted) is designed to equip participants with the necessary theoretical knowledge and understanding required to safely operate outboard-powered vessels within the prescribed classification.
