Darussalam Pilotage Services
Darussalam Pilotage Services Sdn. Bhd. (DPS) was established on 21 August 2018. We are a leading pilotage and towage service provider in Brunei Darussalam. We are a government-linked company (GLC) under the umbrella of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd (DA), formed following the corporatisation of Ports Department and Marine Department. DPS operates dependable harbour tugboat services in Brunei waters, delivering safe and reliable operations within the Muara Pilotage District. Today, we are expanding into training solutions for the maritime sector.

Corporatisation of Ports & Marine Department
21 August 2018 - DPS was officially incorporated as DA subsidiary to be the exclusive provider for pilotage and towage services following the corporatisation of Ports Department and Marine Department.
Public License Agreement (PLA)
1 December 2019 - DPS was granted exclusive Public License Agreement (PLA) by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) to provide pilotage and towage services in the Muara Pilotage District.
Commencement of Towage Services
Commence Towage Service at Muara Pilotage District
FEB 2020 - Western and Eastern Channel.
APR 2020 - Hengyi Industries Single Point Mooring (SPM).
Acquisition by Royal Brunei Technical Services
(RBTS)
1 April 2020 - RBTS officially acquired DPS and a Management Service Agreement (MSA) was put in place for RBTS to help manage DPS.
Acquisition by Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd (DA)
1 April 2022 - Due to restructuring at RBTS, DPS was
acquired back by DA.
Digitalisation
27 October 2022 - Launched MarineM application to enhance efficiency in its workflows and services.

6 September 2023 - Attained International Standard Organization (ISO) Certification:
- Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015).

Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO)
31 July 2023 - Became a member of Baltic and
International Maritime Council (BIMCO).
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia Maritime Academy Sdn Bhd & Signing Ceremony for DPS 1st Intake Cadet Scholarship Program
14 May 2024 - DPS signed MoU with Malaysia Maritime Academy Sdn Bhd (MMASB) for Deck Officer Cadet Scholarship Programme.
The 1st Intake scholarship award signing ceremony for DPS cadets awarded to 10 recipients to undertake Diploma in Nautical Studies at Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM).
Became a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
18 September 2024 - Registered Training Organisation (RTO) by Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE).
24 September 2024 - Officially received the Certificate of Course Accreditation for Maritime Training from the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD), allowing DPS to offer in-class training for the Outboard Engine Boat Operator (Class 9 Restricted).
14 October 2024 - Commence Class 9 (Restricted) training for public.
DPS Scholarship Award for Intake 2 Cadets
29 May 2025 - The 2nd Intake scholarship award signing
ceremony for DPS cadets awarded to 9 recipients to
undertake Diploma in Nautical Studies at Akademi Laut
Malaysia (ALAM).
Accredited as Class 9 (Restricted) Training Provider
31 July 2025 - Successfully attained full accreditation
for Class 9 (Restricted) Training provider by MPABD.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC)
4 November 2025 - DPS and BGC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). BGC aim berthing space to support DPS cadet sea time training programme, offering practical, hands-on experience in a real operational environment
